In the following Imaging Lesson, I had to undo all the digitization work I had done in the previous class. I reiterated my drawings as my previous ones were not using the entire space effectively and it was not giving me a clear picture of the layout of the zine. I also tried different styles of drawing in the same scene.
In this lesson, I was finalising my drawing style- the one which gave me the most continuity and consistency of style in my thumbnails. I took a while to get my drawings and my placement of the figures in the dimension restrictions that were given to us.
I then Image traced the same and began painting in the spaces. It took me a while to get the hang of working with my digital piece and it was a painful process of reiterations throughout all the zine development stages, till now the drawing at least. I took way too much time to get my drawings right which ultimately reduced a lot of my digitisation time.
I guess more than anything, I learned the lesson of not trying to run behind perfection in one aspect and just getting the work done to a decent level and performing on an all-round level instead.
Another take back for me was that I have to improve my drawing skills by leaps and bounds to make my imaging work easier and quicker and better of course. Looking at my classmates I observed that those who have a good hand at drawing have a better knack at digitisation as It reduces their work time as well as effort in additional corrective aspects. I have tried to practise drawing bit by bit on a daily basis so that it would make my work easier later.
