Drawing Week 11

In the following drawing lesson, we continued the process of our character development. By this class, I realised that both my Imaging Faculty- Jai Sir and Drawing faculty- Solange Ma’am had differing opinions regarding the development of my zine. Jai sir wanted me to present my zine in a sort of a comical manner with lesser darkness involved whereas, Solange Ma’am wanted me to stick to the original essence of darkness that I wanted to bring out through my zine. In the following class, I learned the importance of defining the outfit and the overall look of my character. I realised that fashion is a subtle but loud language but is an important aspect of the overall look and feel of the character’s villainy essence. I then began starting to think about my character’s outfit and began trying different looks to suit the protagonist’s characteristics. I ended up with the following drawings below. Solange Ma’am then taught me a new technique to try and create expressive faces and then go in and try to detail it. She told me to make five dots in any way and then connect the five and try to create expressive faces by focussing on the form of the boundary created by the five dots on the page.
