Work Assigned: In the following Imaging class we started off on our new project i.e making a coffee table book. We were to start by making the layouts of our book. We were also appointed submit our final printed copy of our previous book.
Process: In the following class, I had spent most of time trying to print out the final draft of my project. Here I was working on the finishing touches and was focused on exporting my document in the right format along side printing it and cutting it and binding it correctly as I had made the error of exporting my file incorrectly previously. Moving on, I had looked at different types of coffee table books and was trying to observe and study the same.
Critical Reflections: In the following class, I had realized that I needed to develop my software skills especially with Adobe Indesign, I needed to teach myself housekeeping of my file and its layout setting up, which I had lacked in my previous book. I also understood that I needed to start developing a better gestalt based observational learning as I still did not understand how to make good compositions and layouts that used negative space effectively. Being frustrated with not understanding this art, I then in the coming days started reading books and looking up layout design on the internet to further hone my skills in this following work.
