Imaging Semester 2 Week 10

Work Assigned: In the following Imaging lesson, we were to continue with creating our layouts for the coffee table book.

Process: In the past few days I had began reading the book titled “Conversations with Students” by Paul Rand, recommended by Malvika Ma’am, My Integrative Studio Faculty. I did this as I needed to build my understanding towards visual design and layout making. I also looked up Behance projects on book layouts made by practicing designers in the industry to get more understanding of layouts, spacing and typography used.

Critical Reflections: In the following Imaging lecture, my work was more towards building my observational skills and learning by reading and reflecting. From my readings I took back the main lesson that In order to build great layouts and visual designs in general I needed to focus on “building relations for all my content” through the manipulation of “form” . If I build the relation first, I just need to then execute the task by manipulating the form of the medium that I work on. I will try and apply this knowledge in the following classes.
