Work Assigned : In the following Objects as History lesson, We were instructed to pick a category of objects such as utensils, weapons, clothes, etc and were to create a handmade timeline of the same.
Process: In the following Objects as History Class, I picked the category of weapons and started researching on the same, I started my research from the object that was taught to us in the beginning of the 3rd lecture- The Sarissa, the weapon that won Alexander the Great many wars and helped him conquer many empires. I started off my process by making hand drawn illustrations of the object along with the soldiers holding the same. I then rendered the drawing with brush pens and micron pens to add colour and outline the form to make it look more presentable. In this project I had focussed more on the delivery and lesser on the research as I wanted to be a more visual rather than textual book.
Critical Reflections: While doing the following task my main learning was in creating the essence of the weapons in my hand made book. I tried to stick to more brown colors along with bright reds and cool greys as I wanted to show a sharp 3d look and feel of the weapon along with a wooden texture. I tried to keep in mind gestalt principles and tried to use the same in my designs.
