Work Assigned: In the following Integrative Seminar Lesson, We were to continue with our essays on our dream cities.
Process: In the following lesson, I completed about two and a half more essays, I started looking at concepts of future cities that were destroyed due to nuclear warfare, I looked at a concept of a city submerged in a void blackhole under the rapid tides of the waters of the Bermuda triangle. I started ideating on a city with an extremely fast pace of life where productivity is the core principle of the city and society is then created around the epicenter of that concept.
Critical Reflections: While performing the following task I began trying to picture my cities in my head and was trying to empathize with the space and the people that would probably be inhabiting the city of my dreams. I then started to understand the role that space design plays in our lives. How a certain space when manipulated either by its form, social structure- ideologies and beliefs, and it’s circumstances could then psychologically change the way people function and lead their lives in general, I then tried to relate this difference with my hometown Pune and the city I curently am living in-Mumbai, I realized that due to Pune’s climate and it’s spaciousness made its people lead a very slow paced life compared to Mumbai’s high speed fast pace life due to its weather and much more compactness in general.
